A Reflection on Juniors conference

Hello guys, today I will talk about our conference on Friday. As some of you were not present that day, I hope that this post will make you visualize it. It was a wonderful day, and to me it was the best experience ever. At the beginning it was difficult to work with these projects and what was really hard, was the part that I was a member of two presentations. Despite the harsh time and difficulties in the end everything turned out to be a success. Together with our friends we worked hard for a couple of weeks, we spent a lot of time together sharing and changing ideas. Professor Daniela and Professor Aileen were always there to help us with ideas or critics and they were always pushing us to do even more.  At the beginning, I thought that it would be something really easy to be done, I thought that it would be just like those presentations that we have had in class, but actually it was completely different. A reflection on my own multimedia sources

Hello guys, today I will talk about my own experience as a teacher last week  related to the multimedia elements. From that day and on, there have been some students who ask me about the technological sources that I used in my lesson. If you want to get a clear idea on that, I suggest you to read this post and here you will get what you were asking for.  Maybe it is too late you might think to write about it as it has passed some days but I cannot forget that moment as it was too special for me. Some years ago there were parents or students talking with one another saying that in their class they did not have enough time to speak, as their teacher was always talking and their lesson become boring. In the end the whole students could lose their interest and attention as well. I was one of those students that made this criticism towards the way how the whole lesson was organized. There were times that my professor of biology talked during the whole time and in the end I had no opportunity to ask a question, or to put the theory that we were taught into practice. Since that time I have always thought on how I would have acted if I was a teacher.   Nowadays, the method that a teacher should teach his/her students has changed a lot. A reflection on Interactive PowerPoint

      The passing weeks we have learned a lot about a new way that we can use on our presentations, which is called interactive PowerPoint. If we would focus on the name interactive we understand that it is a way to use PowerPoint in an interactive and attractive way. Actually I had seen before other students, or even I myself have used some of the features of interactive PowerPoint, but I had never seen before one presentation in which all its features were used. It was only the day of the lecture that we had to apply all its features in one specific presentation. To me it is much simple to talk about this method because I have used it in my presentation as well.      I have used the interactive PowerPoint by implying in my presentation different features of PowerPoint. Firstly, I have applied action buttons that serve to move from one page to another, or other ones that might serve as a home or help button, which can send you at those slides you are interested on. A Reflection on Webinars

         To start with, I am really passionate about this way of teaching that we were introduced this week "Webinars". We are used to being taught in a class full of students, with our professor in front of us, with an overhead projector screen, but this is not the case with webinars. At the first moment that I saw what webinars were about and how they functioned, it immediately made me think of face-time. It seemed to me as if they were people chatting with one another,and the only distinction was that their topic was related to teaching. While I was watching the two videos that we were introduced, about the way how a lesson can be used, it completely changed my previous idea. I realized that webinars are seminars performed on Web, which can be of different types such as; conferences, meetings or teaching like the one that we were introduced.      Before a teacher plans a lesson there are a lot of questions that he/she wants to answer. Project Based Learning

Project Based Learning, at the first sight when I read this term it gave me the idea that it referred to learning which is based on projects. This term made me think especially of one of the times when I had an important project on Gender issues, where we were in competition with other schools in America, Spain etcetera trying to get the first place. At the beginning, I thought that this topic had to do with the way how we organize our projects; how we collaborate with other competitors and also the experience we get in the end. From all the articles that I read until now about this method, I realized that my idea at the beginning was not incorrect, but it was somehow diverse from it as it referred to materials and concepts that are learned through projects. It is a good way to teach those key skills that we mentioned when we had the first lecture, which refer to critical thinking, collaboration, time management and communication. This method in my opinion is quite helpful and ent
